The panel “The State and Its Antagonisms: Contingency and Fragmentation of Political Order in the MENA Region”, organized by MECAM, explored how statehood is constituted, its internal dissonances, and tensions between imagined orders and practices across the Maghreb, Mashriq, and Germany.
