In Brief

Exchange and Networking at the ISA 2023 Annual Convention

This year, the GIGA will once again be represented at the Annual Convention of the International Studies Association. The Annual Convention of the world’s most important academic association for International Studies serves to promote networking within academia and with policymakers.

  • From 15 to 18 March, GIGA scholars will lead panels and discussions and present their publications and research on issues of international relations, peace and security, democracy studies, and governance. They will address topics such as the impact and termination of sanctions, new approaches to the study of interfaith peace, the Indo-Pacific strategies of China, India, and the United States, the difficulties encountered in peacebuilding, and China’s role in international economic governance. A detailed programme listing all contributions by our scholars can be found here.

With more than 7,000 members, the ISA is the world’s most important scientific association for International Studies. The GIGA regularly contributes to the Annual Convention of the ISA and uses this forum for scientific exchange, for planning international research projects, and for networking with practitioners.
