Close to 20 researchers from the GIGA will attend the annual convention of the International Studies Association (ISA). They will contribute to various panels, presenting their findings in the areas of international, transnational, and global affairs from 27 to 30 March. The topics covered will include electoral violence, conflict forecast, regional powers and regional organisations, global environmental governance, religious violence, international sanctions, and many more. This year’s conference takes place in Toronto.

On 28 March, the GIGA and SAGE Publishing are inviting conference participants to a jointly hosted reception at the Sheraton Centre Toronto. The GIGA and SAGE have recently partnered: From 2019 onwards GIGA's four academic journals will be published by SAGE with the platinum standard of open access (i.e. without author or reader fees). We will launch this new collaboration at the ISA Convention 2019.

The ISA is one of the oldest interdisciplinary academic associations dedicated to international studies. In addition to promoting exchange between scholars, the 7,000-member organisation also contributes to building linkages between research, politics, and the private sector.
