The German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) will be represented again this year at the annual convention of the International Studies Association (ISA). GIGA researchers will present their findings in the areas of international, transnational, and global affairs as part of various panels from 4 to 7 April. The topics covered will include the war in Syria, the digitalisation of international politics, peacebuilding, and regional security. This year’s conference takes place in San Francisco.

On the opening day, the GIGA and the Freie Universität Berlin are inviting conference participants to a jointly hosted reception at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square Hotel. The aim is to bring together scholars from across the world and support international scholarly exchange.

In the sidebar you can find the GIGA Programme. Programme Freie Universität Berlin is available here.

The International Studies Association is one of the oldest interdisciplinary academic associations dedicated to international studies. In addition to promoting exchange between scholars, the 7,000-member organisation also contributes to building linkages between research, politics, and the private sector.
