Latin America’s influence is growing. In response to its own rise and the changes in the international context, the region is seeking new foreign policy and economic partners as well as redefining its role in the “old” partnerships.
Central to the GIGA Forum was the relationship between the countries of Latin American with the European Union, the United States and the People’s Republic of China. The topics under discussion were the new partnerships of equals with the EU and the US and China’s role in Latin America. The event was carried out in cooperation with the EU-LAC Foundation within the scope of Hamburg Foundation Day 2013.
The Forum was held in German.
