Latin America is a region marked by profound inequalities in all areas of the public life. This is evident in everyday practices of discrimination following socio-economic, ethno-cultural, gender, regional, etc. criteria. Nevertheless, in many cases such inequalities are also reflected in institutions that (either explicitly or not) implement discriminatory policies against certain communities, due to their ethno-cultural affiliation, national origin, or legal status.
Under the auspices of the desiguALdades.net network, this workshop bring together PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and scholars from both GIGA and Freie Universität, who study these inequalities across the Latin American region with an interdisciplinary and transnational approach. (Programme)
