Latest Scientific Findings: GIGA Researchers Present their Work in Barcelona

On 22 and 23 February, scholars will meet at the Barcelona Institute for International Studies (IBEI) for a joint workshop, where they will present and discuss their research on the topics of security, conflict, and peace processes.

A total of nine panels will offer insight into exciting and pertinent topics, including:

Targeting - How the US and EU Use Individual Sanctions

This paper analyzes the question: What conditions make it likely that particular individuals and/or entities are being listed by the US and the EU? We introduce a novel dataset on listings by the EU and US from 2021 to 2023 that are aggregated at the monthly level.
