Hopes and fears surround digitalization's impact on work, especially in developing countries where labour markets differ from OECD contexts. How do people in these regions perceive digitalization? Drawing on a field experiment in Ghana, we uncover a pronounced optimism linked to the prospect of employment and productivity gains as well as leapfrogging old systems.

This course equips students with the economic tools needed for policy analysis, encouraging a practical understanding of Economics as a language for policy professionals. By examining supply and demand, market dynamics, and the role of politics, students assess policy impacts while critically evaluating economic perspectives within real-world contexts.

Intriguing scholarly debates continue to surround the various strategies that propel development even as the terminology of development itself remains inherently ambiguous, complex and theoretically contentious.
