The story is loosely based on accounts of rape and witch-hunting I came across during my fieldwork in Kokrajhar, Assam, India. It is set against the backdrop of insurgency, armed conflicts, and peace accords signed in Assam in the past. I have used original names of places and festivals, this work is a piece of fiction.

The book looks at the question of the Tibetan nation from the perspective of Tibetan women in exile and explores their contributions to Tibetan nationalism. It captures the experiences, views, and realities of Tibetan women in exile, drawing from ethnographic interviews with participants in three Tibetan settlements in India.

While Naga women have been active in all spheres of Naga society, social, cultural, and institutional constraints have kept them on the margins of formal politics. In 2023, two Naga women were elected to the 60-member Nagaland Legislative Assembly for the first time, which was hailed as “historic”.

Frieden und Entwicklung in Nordostindien sind der Schlüssel für Indiens Vision stärkerer politischer, gesellschaftlicher und wirtschaftlicher Beziehungen in Asien. Für einen dauerhaften Frieden sollten lokale Akteure in formale Friedensprozesse einbezogen werden, allen voran Frauen, die an der Basis eine aktive Rolle spielen.
