  • Did you ever ask yourself: Are my research results actually used in practice? In this talk we will tell you to which extent German Development Cooperation (GDC) uses results of (rigorous) impact evaluations. You will also learn how much rigorous evidence GDC generates on its own. We will further discuss what steps you as a researcher can do to make the take-up of your research results more likely.

This talk is based on the results from a BMZ-funded research project at the German Institute for Development Evaluation (DEval). The multi-method research project empirically examined the status quo of rigorous evidence, relevant barriers and potential measures to increase both the initiation of rigorous impact evaluations and the take-up of (rigorous) evidence. Please find the full report here and the link to our project website here.

Speaker: Dr. Marion Krämer is team leader at the German Institute for Development Evaluation (DEval) in Bonn.

Authors: Lea Jechel (DEval) Timo Kretschmer (DEval)
