Discussing the integration of gender analyses in comparative area studies and the global approach
24/06/2019
Feminist or gender scholarship has experienced much growth in recent years; yet, most scholars so far do not make use of feminist works in their research; and more often than not ignore gender completely. At the same time, most of us would probably acknowledge that gender is one of the fundamental dimensions of the human relations that we study and might be even an essential part of a "global approach". This course, thus, has two central objectives: First, we will interactively discuss why gender might (or might not be) relevant for research in the disciplines present at GIGA. Second, we will develop some practical ideas of how to make research more gender inclusive.
