Who Is Winning the Trade War?

GIGA President Prof. Dr. Amrita Narlikar is part of latest Foreign Affairs expert survey Foreign Affairs published an expert survey on “Who is winning the trade war" in mid-December 2019. The views of just under 45 world experts are represented. Prof Narlikar is the only expert from Germany whose insights appear in the survey.

“If one is concerned about ‛weaponized interdependence′ — and we may have good reason to be so in the case of China […] then the trade war may be an important step in the exercise of economic statecraft for the United States […]: economic pain but security gain.”, states Prof. Narlikar.
