I critically examine how three leading Chinese IR theories—Moral Realism, Relational Theory, and Tianxia System—relate to the concept of ‘good international citizenship’ (GIC), arguing that they do not offer a fundamentally different vision of world politics or states’ conduct from the perspective of GIC.
