GIGA President Prof. Amrita Narlikar contributed to the event as moderator and speaker. As a follow-up to the SCRIPTS conference in February, Prof. Narlikar shared her analyses on the liberal script in Asia, also in light of current developments, the Russian aggression, and Europe’s relation to the Indo-Pacific region, with a high-level panel of foreign policy practitioners and scholars.

This chapter analyzes the origins, evolution, and crisis of trade governance. Among others, Prof. Narlikar discusses difficulties and bargains of the multilateral order, and also provides directions of reform. She evaluates the GATT and WTO, weaponized interdependence, and the role of the Global South.
The President of GIGA and Honorary Fellow of Darwin College, Prof. Amrita Narlikar, will give a lecture on interconnectedness and isolationism in international relations and their implications for research and policy as part of the Darwin College Lecture Series.
