Let’s Celebrate Diversity!

This year marks the tenth anniversary of German Diversity Day, and the GIGA is proud to be part of the celebration. As a signatory to the Diversity Charter (Charta der Vielfalt), we fly the diversity flag, making a respectful and welcoming work environment within our diverse society a priority.

Diversity is a given at an independent, internationally oriented research institute such as ours. We are constantly working on making our structures even more diverse and inclusive. That’s why we surveyed our staff on how they perceive diversity and equal opportunity at the GIGA. How diverse are we in terms of the many dimensions of diversity, and where is there room for improvement? What aspects of diversity are staff members most interested in learning more about? We plan to discuss the results of our survey at a diversity awareness training event in the fall. The GIGA recognises that the diversity of its employees, with their different talents and skillsets, offers advantages and opportunities in finding creative and innovative solutions. With the “Diversity Charter,” this potential is now also publicly acknowledged too.
