GIGA Formally Recognised: Fair Working Conditions for All 

People of all genders and backgrounds should have access to the same opportunities and possibilities at work. The GIGA promotes all employees equally, and as a result received the Total E-Quality Award in 2020.

The award from TOTAL E-QUALITY Deutschland e. V. confirms that the GIGA offers all employees equal opportunities and possibilities in the workplace. The institute not only conducts global research and is internationally networked, but is also committed to ensuring that the diversity of the world is reflected in its own staff body too. In its statement, the jury emphasised that: “Equal opportunities and diversity are central components of the GIGA’s self-image. [...] The areas of ‘gender-appropriate personnel development’ and ‘work-life balance’ are particularly well-developed.”

With a clear commitment to diversity, seen as a cross-sectoral issue, we aim at promoting and valuing diversity at the institute and using the resulting potential fully.
