GIGA President Professor Amrita Narlikar Serves as Co-Chair of Think20 Taskforce

  • Think20 (T20) is an official G20 engagement group. It serves as an “idea bank” for the G20 by bringing together think tanks and high-level international experts to discuss relevant global socio-economic issues. T20 recommendations are synthesized into policy briefs and presented to G20 working groups, ministerial meetings, and leaders’ summit to help the G20 deliver concrete and effective policy measures. The theme of India’s G20 Presidency in 2023 - “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “One Earth · One Family · One Future” - is drawn from the ancient Sanskrit text of the Maha Upanishad. Essentially, the theme affirms the value of all life – human, animal, plant, and microorganisms – and their interconnectedness on the planet Earth and in the wider universe. The Taskforce LiFE, Resilience, and Values for Wellbeing was introduced by Prime Minister Modi at COP26.
