The Körber Stiftung’s 171st Bergedorf Round Table addressed the question of how the rule-based international system might be modified and strengthened. The event was opened by former Swedish prime minister Carl Bildt and by president of the GIGA Professor Amrita Narlikar. Afterwards, she and 34 other high-ranking delegates from politics, management, think tanks, science, and the media discussed the increasing problems facing the multilateral system.

Is the multilateral system as we know it on the brink of collapse? How might it be re-strengthened? The threat to the global trading system was also the theme of this three-day event.
