“Book a scientist”: One-on-one talks with GIGA researchers
In individual “Book a scientist” sessions, organised by the Leibniz Association, GIGA experts Prof. Dr. Merike Blofield and Prof. Dr. Eckart Woertz address participants’ specific questions.
In individual discussions, GIGA researchers take the time to delve into specific aspects of their expertise. The contents of the sessions vary depending on each scholar’s area of research. Prof. Dr. Merike Blofield, Director of the GIGA Institute for Latin American Studies, studies the extent to which the coronavirus pandemic has impacted poorer households in Latin America.
Prof. Dr. Eckart Woertz, Director of the GIGA Institute for Middle East Studies, researches, among other topics, Saudi Arabian oil policy, questioning whether the Saudi model of political order is heading towards obsolescence.
The Leibniz Association created “Book a scientist” in order to facilitate exchange between researchers and the interested public. The individual, 25-minute one-on-one sessions will take place on 10 November 2020.
