Journal of Current Southeast Asian Affairs Selected for Inclusion in Web of Science


  • The Journal of Current Southeast Asian Affairs has been selected for inclusion in the Web of Science. Articles published in the GIGA journal after 1 January 2019, will now be listed under the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), the Journal Citation Reports Social Sciences, the Essential Science Indicators, and the Current Contents / Social and Behavioral Sciences in the renowned interdisciplinary citation database.

    The Web of Science selection process is curated by a neutral team of editorial experts to create a trusted, high-quality database of journals, books, and conference proceedings. The selection is based on the principles of objectivity, selectivity, and collection dynamics, as well as 24 quality criteria and four impact factors. The inclusion in the database distinguishes the GIGA journal as a high-quality and influential journal. It provides articles with greater visibility in the scientific community and high-quality submissions. The editors, Prof. Dr. Marco Bünte, Dr. David Camroux and PD Dr. Andreas Ufen welcome the journal's approval for inclusion in the Web of Science citation index: "This is excellent news and confirms the great quality of our journal.     In the future, the Journal of Current Southeast Asian Affairs may be evaluated and added to additional Clarivate Analytics products to meet the needs of the scientific and scholarly research community.

    The Journal of Current Southeast Asian Affairs is a peer reviewed, Open Access journal. The journal focuses on current political developments in Southeast Asia. It accepts submissions with a focus on international relations and on the social, economic, legal, etc. dimensions of policies and politics. The journal is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and published by SAGE Journals.
