Global Approach to CAS Series II: Conceptualizing and measuring political clientelism in comparative perspective

This course provides an introduction to the conceptualization and possible measurement of political clientelism. The goal of the course is to augment each participant’s ability to analyse and evaluate complex social phenomena which are difficult to measure directly. More specifically, participants will get first hand insight into the research process of the lecturer and be able to work with existing datasets aiming at measuring political clientelism in different ways and for the purpose of international comparative analyses.
