The GIGA German Institute for Global and Area Studies / Leibniz-Institut für Globale und Regionale Studien seeks to hire a
Student Research Assistant (m/f/d)
to support the research project “CRC990: Ecological and socioeconomic functions of tropical low-land rainforest transformation systems” for up to 40 hours per month for at least 6 months. Currently, the remuneration is gross €12.00 per hour.
The project is in collaboration with the University Göttingen, and the student will be hired for the subproject C11: “Integrated analyses of policies for sustainable rural economies”. The project investigates socioeconomic and ecological trade-offs at the scale of a local rural economy, using a Social Accounting Matrix (SAM).
Tasks:
Literature search and review
Secondary data search
Support of data cleaning and analysis
Requirements:
Master Student in Economics (preferably Agricultural Economics or Development Economics) or another related and relevant discipline
Proficiency in English
Familiarity with STATA
Team spirit, flexibility, ability to work independently, intercultural sensibility and commitment
