The GIGA seeks to hire one or two
Student Assistant(s) (m/f/d)
to support the research project “Research Support for the Special Initiative Decent Work for a Just Transition” for 40 hours per month for at least 6 months, remuneration: EUR 12,00 per hour. The position should start on 15 April 2023. The project provides research support to the BMZ and implementing institutions by investigating the effects of important representative approaches used in the Special Initiative regarding productive employment. More information can be found here. The student assistant(s) will support the ongoing analysis and documentation of four different program evaluations (three in Ghana, one in Côte d’Ivoire). Currently, the majority of the work can be performed remotely.
Tasks:
Data cleaning, analysis and (graphic) processing
Documentation of the projects for public outreach (website, presentations, etc.)
Literature research
Requirements:
Master student in economics (preferably specialized in development economics) or another relevant discipline
Enrolled in a German university
Familiarity with MS Office is required
Well-advanced knowledge with Stata is required
Familiarity with R and other statistical software is an asset
Proficiency in English is required
Proficiency in French is an asset
Team spirit, ability to work independently, and longer-run commitment
