Student Assistant (m/f/d)


  • The GIGA seeks to hire a Student Assistant (m/f/d) to support the research project “Research Support for the Special Initiative Training and Job Creation (RèUsSITE)” for 9 hours per week for at least 6 months, remuneration: EUR 10,77 per hour. The RéUsSITE project provides research support to the BMZ and implementing institutions by investigating the effects of important representative approaches used in the Special Initiative regarding investment and productive employment. The student assistant will support the research team in preparing and carrying out rigorous impact evaluations of job training programs in West Africa. Currently, the majority of work is required to be performed remotely.

    Tasks:

    • Conduct literature research

    • Support research team in drafting relevant documents

    • Edit questionnaires and program them in SurveyCTO

    • Support research team in cleaning data and producing descriptive statistics

    Requirements:

    • Master student in economics (preferably with a focus on development economics) or other relevant discipline

    • Familiarity with MS Office is required, prior experience with STATA and/or data collection software (SurveyCTO, ODK) would be an asset.

    • Full working proficiency in English; French and German would be an asset.

    • Team spirit, ability to work independently, and longer-run commitment
