With its events series, the GIGA regularly presents research results and discusses both global trends and developments in the regions of Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
The GIGA Library is open to all interested parties, and usage is generally free of charge. It offers borrowing, inter-library loaning and various services at the facilities, such as designated user workspaces and free WIFI.
The GIGA is headed by the President (ad interim) as prima inter pares with the Executive Board. The Research Council is responsible for developing the Institute’s scientific orientation. The GIGA’s management team are supported and advised by three external bodies: the Board of Trustees, the Academic Advisory Board, and the Council for Financial Affairs.
