Ausländische Banken drängen nach China: Sind Marktchancen höher als Risiken?

  • Die Bank of China (BOC) erwartet bei der Begebung von 15 Prozent ihrer Unternehmensanteile an der Hongkonger Börse Anfang 2006 einen Emissionswert von 6-8 Mrd. US$. Nach Erfolgen bei der Restrukturierung und Börsennotierung chinesischer Banken bewerten Auslandsbanken das chinesische Bankensystem neu und kaufen Anteile an chinesischen Banken.

    Analyse: Chinas Aufnahme in die Welthandelsorganisation (WTO) Ende 2001 war mit der Auflage verbunden, den Dienstleistungssektor schrittweise für ausländische Anbieter zu öffnen. Für die chinesischen Banken läuft Ende 2006 die „Schonfrist“ aus, dann dürfen Auslandsbanken ohne Beschränkungen im Inlandsmarkt aktiv werden. Die in den letzten zwei Jahren im Bankensektor durchgeführten Reformen haben zu attraktiveren Rahmenbedingungen für das Engagement ausländischer Banken geführt.

    • Trotz vieler Fortschritte bei der Restrukturierung weisen Schlüsselindikatoren auf die nach wie vor bestehenden großen Probleme und Herausforderungen für die chinesischen Banken auf dem Weg ihrer Kommerzialisierung hin.

    • Zu den drängendsten Problemen der Banken zählen weiterhin das hohe Niveau Not leidender Kredite, niedrige Eigenkapitalquoten und Defizite in der Unternehmensführung der Banken.

    • Obwohl die Risiken nach wie vor vergleichsweise hoch eingeschätzt werden, wollen viele Auslandsbanken durch Beteiligung an chinesischen Partnerinstituten die Chancen des schnellen Marktwachstums nutzen.
