  • In the current context where activities, professions and material conditions are undergoing major transformations, MECAM intends to contribute to the general reflection on the pandemic phenomenon.

Newly anchored in the Tunisian academic scene, MECAM is a Tunisian-German research centre dedicated to humanities and social sciences. To inaugurate the "Rencontres Ibn Khaldûn", MECAM is holding an event in which actors directly concerned by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the academic world will take part. They will be invited to discuss the problems of distance learning, mobility and the challenges of research in times of health crisis. The debate will revolve around specific questions including : What does research mean in times of crisis? And what are its consequences on the world of research? What are the measures to be taken by universities in the short and medium term?

The meeting, entitled "COVID-19: Teaching and Research in Times of Pandemic: State of the Situation in Tunisia and Germany", will take place via videoconference. It will be held in French and will be later broadcasted in a version with English subtitles.
