Although India-South Korea ties have been limited and fragmented, the mutual recognition of the Indo-Pacific strategic space provides new momentum to their partnership. This paper explores how South Korea is positioned in India's Indo-Pacific outlook and identifies areas with potential for greater bilateral engagement.

The tensions between the US and China have required India to rethink its foreign policy priorities and recalculate its regional and global strategy. It has raised several questions about how India will navigate the great power competition in its backyard. This chapter argues that India shares notably distinct power equations with US and China, which will influence the course of foreign policy trajectory.
