The Land Matrix Global Observatory is a tool that promotes transparency in land transactions and supports open data and open source communities focused on land deals. As one of Europe's leading research institutes for Comparative Area Studies (CAS), the GIGA has settled as a centre of academic excellence and has given CAS a scientific home. Now the GIGA has established a new award for the best journal article of this still-young field of science.
