Biographical data:

  • Born in 1981
  • Education: Studied Political Science with concentration in Southeast Asian Politics and Development Policy, Sociology, Economics, Anglistics and Education at the University of Muenster (11/2007 M.A. and First State Examination)
  • Professional career:
2003-2006: Apart from a two semester work and study placement in Cambridge/UK, she completed a.o. internships in Jakarta (Friedrich-Naumann Foundation), Berlin (Federal Foreign Office) and Cape Town (Investment and Trade Promotion Agency). During her studies she worked as a student assistant for the IfPol Muenster.
2006/2007: She wrote her Master’s thesis “Pilkada – Direct Election of Regional Heads in Indonesia – An Analysis for Advancement” within the Governance Unit of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Country Office Indonesia.
2003-2007: Her studies were supported by scholarships from the British Council/PAD, InWEnt’s ASA-Programme and the DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service.
2007/2008: After graduation first engaged with the GTZ Office Phnom Penh.
At GIGA since June 2008: responsible for the case studies Indonesia and the Philippines within the DFG supported project “Persistence and Change of Neopatrimonialism in various Non-OECD Regions”.
2009 Visiting Research Fellow at the University of the Philippines and the Universitas Indonesia
