  • Education: M.Sc. Economic Policy on Sustainable Development and Ecological Economics, Universidad Nacional, Costa Rica (2003). B.S. Economics, Universidad de Costa Rica (1996-2001).
  • Professional career:
Since 2010: Current Research Fellow at the GIGA Institute of Latin American Studies in the Project Financial Solutions for Innovative and Sustainable Development in the Energy Sector (FINE)
2006-2009: Coordinator of the Program UNA-Campus Sostenible, Universidad Nacional, Costa Rica. Lecturer, Faculty of Social Science, Universidad Nacional and Faculty of Laws, Universidad de Costa Rica.

Current research:

  • The project “Financial Solutions for Innovative and Sustainable Development in the Energy Sector” analyzes the role of the financial sector inside the socio-technical system, the relation between private and public actors as well as innovative financial solutions by reference to the energy sector in Germany, Europe as well as in a non-European context.
