Other updates

  • GIGA signs cooperation agreements with FLACSO, Santiago de Chile, and ACPSS, Cairo
In May and June 2008, the GIGA signed cooperation agreements with the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales, Santiago de Chile (FLACSO-Chile), and the Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies, Cairo (ACPSS). The GIGA thus deepened its collaboration with leading political think tanks in Latin America and in the Middle East. Both the FLACSO and the ACPSS are members of the Regional Powers Network (RPN). The RPN will be the main platform for future cooperation, especially for the organization of scientific conferences, the development of joint research projects and the exchange of scholars. Within the GIGA, Vice President Prof. Dr. Detlef Nolte will be responsible for the collaboration with the FLACSO and the ACPSS.
